Estate Planning, Wills &Trusts

Estate Planning, Wills & Trusts, an information resource.

Lynwood D. Jordan, Jr., Attorney at Law, 115 West Courthouse Square, Cumming, Georgia 30040

This web site will be removed. I am now the Probate Judge for Forsyth County, Georgia, having taken office January 1, 2005, and plan to take it down in 2007.

Before I do so, please let me present my newest grandchild, Elijah, born April 1, 2005.

Also before I do so, here is Elijah at almost 2 weeks on his mother's birthday, April 11 - pictures including his great grandfather, 4 generations photographs.

New on the site, Mr. Jordan's background information.

MaddieMany reasons to plan exist. To the right is an example of just one of them.

Certain questions about Wills, Trusts, Estates, Probate, Estate Tax, etc., are repeatedly asked by my clients here in Forsyth County. An attorney hears them often. Those questions guided the preparation of this web site.

What are wills? What is Probate? Elder law? All of these subjects and many others are treated in this web site and can be reached through the navigation menu at left on each page.

People desire to direct where their properties go; protect spouses, children, grandchildren and others; plan for retirement, charities, business succession. People desire to avoid estate, gift, generation skipping taxes. People also desire to empower their spouses or children with the ability to manage financial or medical affairs if they cannot. Your own attorney can help guide you through discussions of these issues.

Many questions are received via email. This resulted in the preparation of an Email Page! This is really an interesting place to visit because the questions are uncontrolled and "off the wall". Take a look at that page. Feel free to browse through the questions and answers. The site will be updated again soon, and additional questions and answers will be added.

Please note that this site cannot, and is not intended to, dispense legal advice. Consult your own attorney for estate planning, wills, trusts, estates, and other matters covered on this site, either for the State of Georgia or elsewhere. Some of these areas are very "fact sensitive" and each situation may have different results. That is why discussions with an attorney is often essential. This web site is not intended to dispense legal advice, and one should discuss the subjects herein with one's own attorney.
